EP033: Kielyn Marrone ↣ Surviving Alone for 80 days in sub-arctic winter
When offered a spot on the hit survival show Alone, Kielyn Marrone was actually excited to take a break from her regular life. This statement might sound pretty close to a Chuck Norris joke — But it's the truth...
All this to say Kie is made for the wild. Not the friendly, fruit hanging on trees, animals jumping in the pot kind of wild either. She and her husband Dave Marrone run Lure of the North - an outfitting service specializing in arctic style snow shoe adventures lasting a week or more.
Robin and Kie talk about her story: homesteading in the middle of nowhere, guiding people through inhospitable places, our need for wilderness, making your own traditional clothes, training, teamwork, and the life events that made her harder than a concrete box of nails.... along with a bunch of surprising realities about the show Alone of course.
Thanks again Kielyn for being such an open book!
